電磁力のはたらきを知っていますか？５年SECの理科の授業では、“電気とは”ということと、“どのようにして自分たちで電気を作り出すことができる？”ということについてみんなで学習をしてきました。

その課題を解決すべく、電磁力のはたらきという単元を挑戦しました。そして、実験の結果を出すことができました！

子どもたちは、電池と電源と鉄に巻き付けられた銅線のみを使用して、電池を作ることができました。そこから、鉄は電気を通し、磁石のようなはたらきがあることを知ることもできました！

近頃注目されている、リニアモーターカーから、日常にも電磁力は使われているということを知ることができました。

この実験から、子どもたちの世界や社会を見る視野がより一層広がったのではないかと思います。

Do you know how electromagnets work? During 5F’s science class, we have been studying together to discover “What is an electromagnet?” and “How can we make an electromagnet ourselves?” Once we learned about how an electromagnet works, we set out to try and make one ourselves. We had some pretty great results too!

The students were able to make the magnets using only a battery, a switch, and conductive wire wrapped around an iron core. The students learned that once the iron has electricity flowing through it, the iron core will act like a magnet!

From electric locks to high speed trains, the students discovered there are electromagnets used in our daily lives. From these experiments, the students will be able to have a better view and fuller understanding of the world around us.
