Two weeks ago, we planted our seeds. Soon enough, we began seeing changes in our seeds in days. Caring for our seeds and waiting patiently for them to grow gave us a new learning experience.

We were so thrilled watching our seeds sprout. With the right condition of soil, air, water and temperature, our seeds grew roots and we’re able to see shoots break through at the top of the soil. We understood that the process of germination has successfully taken place. We made our seeds grow!

As for the show and tell, same groups worked together to make the germination process posters. After we all saw and learned the difference and similarities of growth with the other group’s seeds, we created a mind map and discussed about new information we learned. Finally, we wrote a final report about the important factors on how to grow plants.

2週間前にグループに分かれて、植物の種を植えました。すぐに変化が見られ、子どもたちもその変化の大きさに驚いている場面も見られました。

しばらく種を観察する中で、土や空気、水や温度が成長するために重要であることを知ることができました。

種が発芽するまでの過程を理解し、大きくなるまでの成長を見ることができました。

さらにグループごとに自分たちの植えた植物の成長ポスターを作り、その発表を行いました。

それぞれの種の類似点や違いを確認したのち、マインドマップを作成し、学んだことを復習しました。

最後に種をどう育てたのかについてのレポートを作りました。自分の植えた植物がどんなふうに成長していくのか、子どもたちも楽しみにしています。
