Hydrangeas in the Rain

We are more than halfway through the month of June, and the rain has brought in a change of scenery.

Some flowers are withering while others, hydrangeas for example, are just starting to bloom.

Inspired by the event, COSMOS has created a beautiful piece of art “Hydrangeas in the Rain”.

Read along and find out just how we made it.

First, we mixed paint with dish soap and added a little bit of water.

Given a good stir, the mixture was ready.

We then took a straw and blew, very gently, into the bowl. Look at the bubbles!

Before the bubbles popped, we took a piece of paper and put it on top of the bowl.

Check out how beautiful the bubbles stuck onto the paper.

We then proceeded to do some leaf printing. Look how realistic the flowers and the leaves turned out.

Once dry, we cut the flowers and the leaves and carefully arranged them onto the background.

Et voila! “Hydrangeas in the Rain”.

It was so much fun and exciting to make.
