Summer Hols!
Happy Summer everyone!
Summer has started. The cicadas buzz during the days and the bugs crawl out at night. It is a picture perfect night, including the unbearable heat. I hope everyone gets to watch the summer fireworks that Japan is known for.
While we plan for our vacations, SIP has also started winding down for the holiday season. We have packed up our art and worksheets, cleaned up our desks and completed all our major tasks for the week. Look at the bare walls of SIP, they look so lonely, I could weep. The lovely masterpieces of the children sure do brighten up our day.
Our daily wall also gives off the heat. The children look forward to knowing the day and counting down to the summer holidays. As we get closer to the last day before summer, the teachers are also starting to wash and pack away our water play toys for the next summer season. The world is enjoying watching the Olympics, we are holding our own water play Olympics for the children, How many times can you pour water on your teachers?
Since it has been getting progressively hotter, we have been taking it easy this week. Ocean class has been doing a few easy coloring sheets to keep in touch with their fine motor skills and to colour summer related objects. Now I crave some ice cream. I wonder what flavour the children like best? The child in me was so shocked when I learnt that some children don`t like chocolate.
Thank you for joining us for another blog update. It seems it is going to be extremely hot during the next week so let`s all drink plenty of water.
