Fukuwarai

Happy New Year! I hope everybody had a good start to the new year because our Sun class sure had a lot of fun.

This new year marks the beginning of the Japanese traditional month, a month dedicated to teaching the children about the more traditional parts of their culture through English. In keeping with this, Sun class decide to welcome the new year by learning to laugh at their mistakes instead of being saddened by them. They had a lot of activities this week but the one that made them laugh in a silly way was when we drew Fukuwarai.

Here they are listening attentively on how to draw the faces of the Hyottoko and Otafuku.

Oh! Can we spot if anyone is peeking slightly? Or maybe closing their eyes a little too late? I guess it doesn`t matter as long as they are having fun doing it – this method really seems to amuse them!

The joy and energy was immensly enjoyable during this activity!

They really tried their best at giving us the funniest drawings, which I hope they can look back and remember the innocent happiness of youth!
