Welcome Back to a New Year of Fun and Learning with the Cosmos class!

We ended 2024 with a memorable Christmas Show. The children’s nativity play was a heartwarming success, filling everyone with pride and joy. It was a perfect way to wrap up the year and celebrate the holiday season together.

As we stepped into 2025, the Year of the Snake, we welcomed the new year with fun and festive activities. The children crafted snake finger puppets and played a lively snake game, symbolizing good luck and a bright start to the year. It was a wonderful way to kick off 2025 with creativity and excitement!

Now, we’re diving into Japanese Culture Month, and the first week has been amazing. The kids explored Ikebana (flower arrangement), showing focus and creativity as they arranged beautiful flowers. 

They also learned about the famous artist Hokusai, who started his art journey at age six—just like them! Inspired by his story, the children embraced their inner artists and created their wonderful artwork.

We revisited the Tea ceremony (Sado) and card playing (Karuta) , and it was clear how much the children have grown!

Their calm, confident movements reflected their mastery and understanding of this tradition.

And there’s so much more to look forward to! Activities like Takoage (kite flying), Yomikikase (Storytelling – with parent supporters), Warosoku (candle making), Fukuwarai (a Japanese face game), and many other exciting experiences await us. This month is shaping up to be full of fun, learning, and creativity!
