Yayoi Kusama Inspired Dotted Pumpkins
October is drawing closer to the end and Halloween is just around the corner. Inspired by the
famous Yayoi Kusama’s dotted pumpkin art, Cosmos has created our very own version of the well-
known artwork.

First, we started off by drawing pumpkins in different sizes and shapes. Once done, we carefully
painted them in different colors and let them dry.

While we wait for the pumpkins to dry, we proceeded to the background by drawing straight,
horizontal, and vertical lines, to create a chess board pattern.

We then used paint sticks to color each square. The trick here is to use colors different from the
ones on our pumpkins.

Once the pumpkins are dry, we drew in black dots, big and small, unique to Yayoi Kusama’s art.
Look how beautifully they line up.

We then carefully cut the pumpkins and stick them onto the background. Check out how colorful
the pumpkins are. We enjoyed making this piece of art and we hope you enjoyed the little sneak
peek. Until next time!
