2020.04.03 It’s Spring! 新しい年度が始まる

Just now the cherry blossoms are in full bloom around Kyoto. Everyone is reminded how beautiful our city is. With this joy in our hearts we look forward to seeing the children again. At the same time, everyone is aware of the problem of the corona virus spread. We pray to God for everyone’s health, safety and stable life during this period.

It is because there are many problems in the world that we care even more for our children’s future. We think even more seriously about our kids’ education so that they may have a great future filled with peace and happiness and success. As I write this blog, our teachers are preparing for three possible scenarios. First is students can return to school with precautionary measures. Second is students can’t attend school but teachers can attend. Third is neither students nor teachers can attend and everyone must stay home for several weeks. In all scenarios, together with parents’ support we must ensure students continue school study roughly on schedule. As the situation is clarified, we will provide more concrete information on this matter.

From this year Seibo Elementary’s education development project is “traditional values x future skills”. We will work hard to develop your child. Also this year, the Deputy Principal, Mr. Maegawa will join in writing the Principal Blog. It is clear this year will have challenges and restrictions caused by the virus. But we must find happiness and meaning in every day. We must live a full life as the situation allows and make sure all our kids are safe and realizing their full potential.

ちょうど今、京都を中心に桜が満開です。 誰もが私たちの街がどれほど美しいかを思い出します。 この喜びを胸に、子どもたちに再び会えることを楽しみにしています。 同時に、誰もがコロナウイルスの蔓延の問題を認識しています。 この間、皆様の健康、安全、そして豊かな生活をお祈り申し上げます。

世界には、子どもたちの未来をもっと気にかけている問題がたくさんあるからです。 私たちは子どもたちの教育についてさらに真剣に考え、子どもたちが平和と幸福と成功に満ちた素晴らしい未来を築くことができるようにします。 私がこのブログを書いているとき、先生たちは可能性のある3つのシナリオを想定して準備を始めています。 まず、感染防止対策を講じて子ども達が学校生活に戻ることができた場合。 子どもたちは学校に通えないが、先生は出勤できる場合。 子ども達も先生も学校に行くことができず、全ての人が数週間家にいなければならない場合。 すべてのシナリオで、ご家庭のサポートとともに、子どもたちがほぼ予定通り勉強を続けられるようにする必要があります。 状況が明確になりましたら、より具体的な情報を提供していきます。

今年の京都聖母学院小学校の教育開発プロジェクトは「伝統の価値×未来の技」。 私たちは、子ども達を成長させるために一生懸命働きます。 今年は、前川副校長も校長ブログを執筆します。 今年はウイルスによって引き起こされる課題と制限があることは明らかです。 しかし、私たちは日々の生活のなかで、幸せとその意味を見つけなければなりません。 子どもたちの安全を守りながら、いつもと違う条件の中でも、子どもたちの持っている可能性を伸ばす努力をしていきたいと思います。
