2024.07.23 │4年 G4 English Summer Camp Day 1
いよいよ4年生の英語合宿がスタートしました。バスが神戸フルーツフラワーホテルに到着！バスの中でもワクワク感がいっぱいです。
ホテルに到着後は、Opening Ceremonyです。子ども達のOpening Ceremony Remarks(開会式の言葉)の後は、早速English Game, “Who is the leader?”で盛り上がります。
Lessonがスタートしました。4つのグループに分かれて、外国人の先生によるSituation Studyです。
Mr. Wood & Mr. Arscottによる”Guess!”
このボードゲームでは、自分の持っているカードがボードの中のどのキャラクターの事をいっているかを、当てるゲームです。
“I’ll help you.” “Oh, thank you.”
”Let’s start !” “She has glasses?”
“Yes!”
“Does your person have blond hair ?”
“Yes!”
….など、自然に英語でのやり取り飛び交っています。
Lunch Time後のCommunication Timeです。みんな外国人の先生達と沢山お話がしたい一心で、積極的に英語で話しかけていきます。
“Hello. How are you ?” “Good.”
“Do you have any plans for summer vacation?” “I’ m going to Okinawa.”
”Why are you going there?”
”Because I’m joining in Summer Camp in Okinawa”
”Wow! Sounds great !”
… など沢山の英会話がCommunication Timeでは聞こえてきます。
楽しいCommunication Timeも終わり、午後からのSituation Studyの時間です。
Mr. Poehlmanの“Money”です。最初にFlag Quizで世界の国旗を学びます。
その後Mr Poehlman が”Which country’s money do you want to see ?”と尋ね、”I want to see Canadian money!”と答えると、そこの国のお金を見せてもらえます。
Today we learned about a lot of national flags. 今日は沢山の国旗について学びました。”Three, Two, One… Cheese !”

Mr. WhiteのPictionaryです。先生がお題を与え、ヒントになる絵を描きそのお題が何かを当てるゲームです。
“Easy word but how to draw…”
簡単なお題だけど描くのがね…
“It’ difficult to draw.”
おやおや、描くのが難しいようですね。
“Is it yellow?” 答えは黄色かなあ…
“Because it looks traffic light.”信号機みたいだから..
Everybody struggles to think about the answer. みんな答えるのに苦戦していますね。
“The answer is Go. 答えはGoです！
Finally she could answer! ついに！答えが出ました！ Goでした！
Mr. MageeのArtです。みんなで知恵を出し合い、Mapを完成させます。
“Where is the movie village?”
“To the left of the tree across the road.”
“Anybody, last idea ?”
“Who can give me direction?”
子ども達が様々な表現を使い、英語で場所をしめしてくれているのがよく分かりますね
“Everyone can draw, write your own idea.” “Anything you draw.”
“M means Mr.Magee’s hamburger shop.”
“Sounds interesting!”
自分のMapを仕上げる時間です。「Mr.MageeのMはハンバーガーshopの事を示していますか？」と話す子どもがいます。それってMac DonaldのMの事ですね。面白い会話ですね。
こうして、充実したEnglish Summer Camp第1日目。夕食の後もまだまだ楽しい活動が続きます。English Camp Leader のMr.Poehlmanからのメッセージです。
“We had a lot of fun with our situation studies today. The students knew many countries and flags, they enjoyed Art activities, we played Pictionary together and we practiced describing people. The students are earning many stickers because they have been practicing English all day. Soon, we will have dinner together in the dining room, and we will read stories and go out this evening to gaze at the stars.
Tomorrow we will enjoy many fun activities together. We love English Summer Camp.”
