2021.05.20 新人ネイティブ講師 – INTRODUCING ELIN

This year Elin joined our team of native teachers. If you listen to Elin, her speaking is a completely standard American English. However, Elin actually grew up in Sweden and holds a Swedish passport. Many of Elin’s extended family members and relatives are living in America and Elin herself grew up spending a lot of time, such as long summer vacations with relatives in America. For Elin, English is not a second language. English is an equal first language, and Swedish is an equal first language. She is a true bilingual. In Sweden, Elin holds a teacher license as an English teacher, as well as Swedish (national language) teacher. She gained several years high school teaching experience in Sweden before coming to Japan. After coming to Japan Elin taught at Seibo Junior/Senior High School for two years before moving to Seibo Elementary this year. The northern European countries of Denmark, Sweden and Norway are famous for having the best second language English education in the world. Almost everyone in these countries speaks English very fluently. We are very happy Elin has joined our team.

今年、エリン先生が私たちのネイティブ教師のチームに加わりました。エリン先生の英語は、標準的なアメリカ英語です。しかし、エリン先生は実際にはスウェーデンで育ち、スウェーデンの国籍を持っています。家族や親戚の多くはアメリカに住んでおり、エリン先生自身はアメリカの親戚のところで長い夏休みを送るなど、多くの時間を過ごして育ちました。エリン先生ににとって、英語は第二言語ではありません。英語は同等の第一言語であり、スウェーデン語は同等の第一言語です。彼女は真のバイリンガルです。スウェーデンでは、エリン先生は英語教師としての教師免許とスウェーデン語（国語）教師としての免許を持っています。彼女は日本に来る前にスウェーデンで数年間、高校で教壇に立っていました。エリン先生は来日後、聖母中学校・高等学校で2年間教鞭をとり、今年は聖母小学校に着任しました。北欧諸国のデンマーク、スウェーデン、ノルウェーは、世界で最高の第二言語英語教育を行っていることで有名です。これらの国のほとんどの人は英語をとても流暢に話します。エリン先生が私たちのチームに加わったことをとてもうれしく思います。
